As long as your sim is engaged in an non-interruptible interaction, they are 'safe' from brain eating. But I found a pretty easy way to avoid zombie attack. This is Totally awesome! I did a bit of testing and I just love how zombies will immediately try to eat other sims' brains.
I am totally loving this and how zombies get that brains icon.
